Andrew Thomas is a versatile, professional musician working and living in the UK.  He is active as a conductor, flautist and singer in London and the south of England and, as a composer, his music has been played throughout the UK and in Europe.  As well as this Andrew has more than 10 years experience working with young people in an educational environment, both on a one-to-one and group basis.


Andrew was educated at the City University, London where he achieved a first class BMus(hons) degree studying composition (Rhian Samuel), musicology and performance (flute) at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Katy Gainham, Ian Clarke and Rowland Sutherland.  He then completed the MPhil degree in composition at St. Catherine's College, Cambridge with Jonathan Harvey, Robin Holloway, Ken Hesketh and Arlene Sierra.  Following a number of years working freelance Andrew recently completed his PhD in composition at Birmingham Conservatoire under the supervision of Richard Causton, Joe Cutler and Edwin Roxburgh whilst continuing his professional activities.  For more detailed biographical information follow the links listed above.
